Sustainable Nutrition

Goal: Contribute to the health and wellbeing of citizens through sustainable nutrition.

How : Offer quality food and adequate advice that improve the wellbeing of consumers (nutrition, lifestyle) and contribute to food self-sufficiency.

A closer look at one of our initiatives: In Mauritius and Madagascar, KFC (represented by Pick’N’Eat) and Panagora have joined forces with Foodwise to fight against food waste by redistributing food surpluses and unsold products to individuals and groups who need it most.

Empowerment

Goal: Contribute to a vibrant, inclusive and equitable society by promoting integration and empowerment.

How: facilitate the autonomy and integration of individuals (with a special focus on vulnerable ones), offering them access to training and a positive work environment adapted to all employees.

Closer look at one of our initiatives: in collaboration with l’APEIM (Association de Parents d'Enfants Inadaptés de l'île Maurice, an association for people living with disabilities), Maurilait set up a laundry service in Trianon and Curepipe, where it employs around twenty people with disabilities.

Inclusive Economy

Objective: work towards an inclusive economy by supporting entrepreneurship and inclusive business models.

How: promote the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs in Mauritius and in the region, including microbusinesses.

Closer look at one of our initiatives:
having observed that small breeders were lacking tools to carry out their activities, Livestock Feed Ltd (LFL) set up Les Pondeuses Réunies (LPR) in 2017. Through LPR, small farmers are granted the Starponte certification, making it possible for them to better promote their eggs and guarantee the quality of their products.

Environment

Protect the environment through responsible production and consumption, and by awakening a collective ecological consciousness among citizens.

How: reduce our impact on the environment (decrease the use of plastic, recycle waste, be more energy-efficient…), develop eco-friendly products and encourage the preservation of our planet and its resources.

Closer look at one of our initiatives: After five years of comprehensive research, Avipro launched compostable and biodegradable food trays in 2020. This major innovation, the first of its kind in Mauritius, has already garnered interest from American companies. This demonstrates Avipro’s commitment to fight against the use of plastic and reduce its waste as much as possible—both in line with its ambition and that of the Group’s.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION:

  • Reduce our environmental impact
  • Eco-friendly products and services
  • Transition towards eco-friendly packaging

OUR EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES

Fondation Solidarité (Solidarity Foundation) was created in 2009 to enable the development, financing and implementation of responsible actions in line with Eclosia’s core values. Solidarity Foundation drives the implementation of projects, supports causes and initiatives led by individuals and lends its know-how to project leaders. To achieve this, the Foundation has forged close partnerships with NGOs and other associations. It also manages Eclosia’s CSR funds and serves as the vehicle through which the Group’s various companies channel their CSR contributions.

OUR INTERNAL ACTIVITIES

The Group has set up several entities designed to support employees and their families:

The arts, culture and sports have long been valued by the Group as a way to bring people together and form strong human connections. ACS was created with this very idea in mind: it fosters wellness, the development of talents and self-confidence through a range of activities open to all employees of the Group. Some examples include billiards, ping pong, zumba, football, athletics, theatre, music, singing, painting, gardening, nature walks...

Through the Chantecler Foundation, Eclosia Group awards scholarships to the children of its employees for their secondary studies, technical studies and/or tertiary studies.

Fonds de Soutien is a support fund that enables the Group to offer financial or material assistance to employees (or a close member of his/her family) facing an emergency: serious illnesses, disabilities, accidents, natural disasters...

Through the Listening Support Unit, the Group’s employees and their immediate family members benefit from a safe space to discuss any personal, family or professional issue. It provides psychological support for issues ranging from depression and stress to alcohol and drug addiction.
