Duties and Responsibilities

The Safety & Health Assistant plays a key role in keeping Pick & Eat safe, compliant, and constantly improving. This role champions a strong safety culture by bringing group S&H standards to life, reducing risks on the ground, and supporting teams across all operations. From audits and training to investigations and site support, the focus is simple: safer people, safer sites, every day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site safety inspections and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor implementation of corrective actions and safety procedures
  • Identify training needs and deliver Safety & Health training across departments.
  • Assist in risk assessments and compliance audits
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports with recommendations
  • Collaborate with teams to maintain safe working environments
  • Maintain Health Surveillance records and follow up on required cases with the Company Doctor.
  • Support the design and delivery of annual Health & Wellness programs.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by promoting responsible waste management, resource efficiency, and environmentally responsible practices at site level.

Profile

 

    • Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management
    • Minimum 6 months of professional experience in Safety & Health or a similar role
    • Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards
    • Preferred: basic knowledge or interest in sustainability projects
    • Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills
    • Ability to travel frequently between sites
    • Willingness to learn and grow within the company
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Must possess a valid driving license.
