Panagora: reinventing, repairing and sharing through the "Ateliers Circulaires"

Worn-out shirts, faded trousers, a few spools of colorful thread, scissors, and the soft hum of a sewing machine. At the end of September, one of Panagora’s meeting rooms was transformed into a creative workshop. Around the table, cheerful colleagues exchanged tips, laughed at their clumsy first tries, and proudly left with a tote bag they had made themselves.
This was the second session of Les Ateliers Circulaires, a new in-house program launched by Panagora in partnership with The Repair Collective, combining conviviality, learning, and sustainable action. The goal of the day was simple but meaningful: to give old clothes a second life by turning them into reusable bags.
“It was a great opportunity to learn how to repurpose materials we would have otherwise discarded. The most satisfying part was leaving with something tangible - and the desire to do it again at home,” said Kevalya Putchay, Content Creator.
His colleague Norbert Alleaume, Media Producer, shared the same feeling. “I went out of curiosity and loved it. I learned how to make a bag out of old trousers. You realize how often we throw things away when so much can actually be reused. It really makes you want to think differently.”
The first workshop, "Sewing & Repair", took place at the end of August. Participants learned how to darn, stitch, or transform their clothes - a once-common skill brought back to life with a modern purpose: extending the lifespan of garments instead of throwing them away. “Consume less, but better,” summarized one participant. Beyond learning practical skills, these workshops offer a moment of connection and teamwork among colleagues. More sessions are planned in the coming months, open exclusively to the Panagora team.
The initiative ties into a broader Eclosia Group project: Nou Baz Solider, which includes a mobile sewing and shoe-repair station now available at the Head Office on the last Tuesday and Thursday of each month. Everyone is welcome to bring clothes or shoes and give them a second life.
A common thread runs through all these initiatives: extend use, reduce waste, value craftsmanship - and above all, weave stronger bonds.
