Art Swap – A Taste of Art: When art finds its way into the workplace

Art has taken up residence at Eclosia’s headquarters. Art Swap – A Taste of Art is a joint initiative by artme, under the curatorship of Savana Ulcoq, and the Eclosia Cultural Hub, in collaboration with the Group’s Art, Culture and Sports Department. For this first edition, works by two Mauritian artists - Zilien and Patrick Ricco - are in the spotlight.
This is an in-house art exhibition designed as a series of temporary displays within a professional environment. Every two months, two new artists with contrasting styles and backgrounds will be featured. The goal? To bring art into employees’ daily lives and spark dialogue with audiences often distant from traditional art circles.
The project is built on alternating curatorial pairings - each duo offering a contrast in artistic approach and life paths. Zilien, trained in fine arts, currently shares the space with Patrick Ricco, a former tattoo artist turned painter. Though widely sought after in the art market, Ricco remains relatively unknown to the broader Mauritian public — a surprising contradiction. "It’s fascinating to see that many people in Mauritius don’t know him, even though he’s one of the most in-demand artists today," says Savana Ulcoq.
Introducing art into the workplace reflects a broader commitment to cultural openness and employee well-being. "Having a dedicated art space in the office can create a moment of pause, a breath of fresh air in the rhythm of the workday," explains Savana Ulcoq, who views this initiative as a meaningful way to foster human and personal connection.
The project also offers greater visibility to artists - and brings creativity into places where it isn’t always expected.
