FTL: 15 years under the african skies

Jun 17, 2025

In May 2025, FTL celebrated an important milestone: 15 years of presence in South Africa. To mark the occasion, the South African team gathered from May 16 to 18 for its 6th team-building seminar at the stunning Alpine Heath Resort, located between Durban and Johannesburg, in the heart of the Drakensberg mountains.

The weekend kicked off with a fun activity: Nostalgia Bingo, where participants had to identify their colleagues from childhood photos. The evening continued with the theme "15 Years Under the African Skies", with a royal dress code: African Kings & Queens. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by women in traditional attire, who offered face painting and personalized FTL bracelets. Around the campfire, Jonathan Pimenta and his group led an African drumming workshop—a powerful moment blending rhythm, teamwork, and connection.

Saturday morning brought a breathtaking surprise: a hot air balloon ride. At dawn, teams discovered this magical and peaceful activity, flying over the majestic landscapes of the Drakensberg. A rare and precious moment of stillness above the clouds.

After this uplifting interlude, it was time to give back. Team members took part in renovating the Sivukile pre-primary school: painting, installing kitchen equipment, and enhancing play areas. A meaningful initiative driven by collective effort and care.

The gala evening was the grand finale of this memorable weekend. Awards, a live performance, caricature artists, and symbolic gifts: each participant received a wooden letter representing the initial of their name, designed with a 3D logistics motif. A keepsake to display with pride.
